Because Shanna Said So...: Celebrity Fashion Auction for a Cause

Posted: 06 Aug 2014 10:00 PM PDT

I'm delighted to tell you about an exciting celebrity charity fashion auction event that just started. My personal friend, Lauren who started Bloggers Closet teamed up with actress, producer and The Real talk show host, Tamera Mowry-Housley.

When Lauren asked me to share this opportunity, I immediately said yes because it not only involves some crazy amazing shopping, but most importantly this event will make a difference in children's lives and give them hope for the future. Here's the scoop on how you can help.

From now through August 12, you'll have the exclusive opportunity to shop Tamera's personal closet. She is auctioning some seriously gorgeous designer fashion! All proceeds will be donated to I Have A Dream Foundation, an amazing national organization that helps children in low-income communities pursue and achieve their career dreams. They provide guaranteed tuition support, as well as personal coaching from elementary school through first year college.

Bloggers Closet will also be donating 10% of all sales site-wide during the next week - so it's a perfect time to shop for a cause!

The above photo is a preview of just some of the pieces that you can shop from Tamera's closet; Rachel Zoe, BCBG, French Connection, Michael Kors and Karen Millen to name a few. View all her items and make a bid here, you'll look gorgeous and feel great knowing you helped a very worthy cause!

An icon in her own right, you can't pronounce celebrity stylist Shun Melson's name without saying the word fashion. She is FaSHUN. Shun has become somewhat of a modern day superwoman, swooping in and transforming her clients from best-dressed list unknowns to media darlings.

Shun boasts a diverse clientele ranging from reality TV 'it girls' such as Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Phaedra Parks and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, to Grammy and Academy award winning entertainers Ledesi, Monica, Fantasia, Ludacris, Gucci Mane, Jennifer Hudson and Tyler Perry. The fashion maven also counts a number of artists (gospel, r&b, rap), professional athletes, housewives and business executives as clients, which explains her often used #NeverNotWerkin hashtag.

The trendsetter does more than improve her clients' style; she helps improve their lives and careers. "My goal is to keep my client's focused on their business at hand whether that is a promotional tour, game, concert, business meeting or just having more quality family time. I eliminate the stress of them doing any of the legwork to look polished and feel fantastic." Shun, who started her career working in high-end retail, knows how to provide outstanding customer service and put all the details together. She provides wardrobe assessment consulting, closet organization, shopping assistance, personalized look development, personal fittings, cross-country shipping, outfit snapshots for effortless dressing and packs each item with meticulous instructions. Shun is also notorious for scouring the globe to procure a specific item upon a client's request and she does so with a smile. "I've been told that I handicap my customers," says the proud clotheshorse. "They'll tell me ever since they hired me they can't even walk into their closets, a store or go on a trip without contacting me first."

An Atlanta native, where she resides with her two young sons, Shun turns just as many heads as her loyal protégés. As a result she launched FaSHUN 101 classes, introductory courses on the basic principles behind the styling business where she travels the country spreading the magic secrets to her success. In 2013, the fashion maven introduced her FaSHUN apparel line that consists of everyday basics such as t-shirts, hoodies, jogging pants and hats with clever hashtag quotes she is known to use on her social media platforms like #luvthystylist, #luvthyhaters and #stylist.

Shun's portfolio of work has been profiled in People, In Touch Weekly, Rolling Stone, Essence, XXL, Billboard, Spin, BET and VH1. Additional features include Oprah, The Wendy Williams Show, Regis and Kelly, American Idol, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Wrestle Mania, The Grammy's and Soul Train Awards, to name just a few.

Shun has also made cameo appearances on network television including Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding and Don't Be Tardy. The ultimate tastemaker, Shun will continue to expand her FaSHUN brand in an effort to make the world a more stylish place. "Whether you're a celebrity or not, I think we can all be queens and kings of the red carpet even if that carpet is in our own home or office."

Teen Choice Awards 2014 - Show

Because there are awards shows aimed at adults left and right, FOX's Teen Choice Awards is a special night for those of the younger generation. Attendees, hosts, presenters, and nominees all tend to be under 30, gorgeous, and relishing their youth with fame and riches. And what better what to show off adolescent good looks than in fantastic, fashionable outfits that highlight these beautiful young stars.

The fan-favorite extravangaza was hosted by Teen Wolf's Tyler Posey and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland and took place Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. 165 million votes were cast online for the 16th annual awards, honoring movies, television, music, comedy, sports, fashion and Web stars in such silly categories as choice hottie, smile and villain (The Hunger Games's Donald Sutherland). The night's big winners were Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort of The Fault in Our Stars, resulting in multiple surfboard shaped-awards being gifted to the duo.

But the following fashion trends were the stars of the red carpet…..

Teen Choice Awards 2014 - Show

Bare Midriffs

Kim K, Kylie Jenner, Taylor Swift, Jordan Sparks, and actresses Chloe Grace Moretz, Nina Dobrev, and Shay Mitchell all dared to bare in two-piece ensembles that showcased their rock-hard abs. Adults wear this look too but, really, this is a trend for the teens, with their annoyingly taut abs. The style was everywhere you looked on the TCA red carpet – the crop top was king and there wasn't a muffin top in sight. Sigh.

Plunging V Necks

Plunging necklines were very popular and because the stars are younger and in great shape, this style looked elegant and fashion-forward. Pretty Little Liars's Lucy Hale, Glee star Lea Michele, host Sarah Hyland, and Chasing Life actresses Aisha Dee and Italia Ricci all took the plunge with deep V's.

Leather Jackets

Who cares that it's summer when the AC is on full blast in the auditorium? Leather jackets were the cover-up of choice to keep the stars warm. Demi Lovato wore one during her performance of "Really Don't Care" that opened the show (the singer-actress then surfed away with awards for choice summer song and choice female summer music star). Demi, Pretty Little Liars and Faking It actor Gregg Sulkin, and If I Stay's Jamie Blackley all wore their leather long-sleeves in black, while Ansel Elgort chose dark blue.

Long Side Braids

Presenter/Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev and Pretty Little Liars's Shay Mitchell both stunned in long, side braids. This look is simultaneously perfect for the beach or the red carpet. And both these ladies were beyond stylish, fulfilling more than one of the night's trends.

Teen Choice Awards 2014 - Show

Red, Pink, and Orange Hues

Bright dresses were everywhere, mostly in vibrant shades of orange, red, and pink and combinations of the two. Stylish ladies Chloe Grace Moretz and Lucy Hale rocked this trend in addition to showing stomach and wearing a deep V, respectively. Also wearing these gorgeous summery shades? – Zendaya, The Giver's Odeya Rush, Big Time Rush's Ciara Bravo, Faking It's Rita Volk, and Fargo's Joey King.
